Hauls + Splurges = Treasures
Even though I've decided to stop shopping for a while, I had to ask Øyvind to stop by DHL today to pick up a package for me. Mr. DHL didn't call me this morning, although the tracking told me that my package had arrived and was sitting in their office, all lonely and sad. It contained a collective haul consisting of products from M·A·C, Urban Decay, Origins, Stila, Benefit, Jack Black and Tarte! Man, that list made it sound like I've gone mad with my VISA once again, but I swear it wasn't that bad. I've actually been a good girl since I said I'd stop shopping for a while to save up some fun money for Paris, apart from a tiny little slip where I ended up getting a few items from M·A·C when ordering some things for a good friend of mine. Oh well, nothing too bad at least, and I think I've been good.

Let's move on to my precious DHL shipment, shall we? I'm well aware of my list being a bit long, but bear in mind that these items have accumulated through April and May and some where purchased at a discount.
Missing: Mr. DHL!
For the very first time since I started using DHL I'm not very impressed with them as a courier. I mean, I still like them a lot in general, and the regular delivery guy is flat out awesome - but on Tuesday Mr. DHL apparently came to deliver a package for me, and apparently I wasn't at home to sign for it. He was supposedly here at 12:20 PM, and when I called DHL to ask what the heck, she told me he'd left a note. Well, I was at home the whole day, and there was no phone call, no note and certainly no attempted delivery. Of course there was no harm done, I collected the package myself, but things like this pisses me off.
Anyway. I went to DHL myself to pick up my shipment, and it contained a collective haul from Urban Decay and M·A·C, in addition to a few gifts for a dear friend. It held my items from M·A·C Wonder Woman, the new Viva Glam Gaga II lipstick and matching lipglass, M·A·C & Nicki Minaj Pink Friday lipstick, a 217 Blending Brush, a 24/7 Shadow Pencil Blending Brush and the three new Feminine, Dangerous, Fun™ palettes from Urban Decay. I know I said I wouldn't buy any more Urban Decay palettes until they stopped launching the same colors over and over again, but you know.. I could.. not.. resist.. them.

I also picked up another package that arrived while I was in Kiel, and inside I found a signed copy of Kat Von D's "The Tattoo Chronicles". Such a gorgeous book! Unfortunately I cannot brag about knowing Kat Von D personally or even having met her, but I coincidentally saw a tweet from High Voltage Tattoo saying that a few signed copies of her book was available in their online store - and so I decided to order the book. I do not regret my purchase!
I'm still expecting Mr. Postman to stop by, and I hope he'll do so soon. I ended up ordering a straightening iron from FeelUnique, which I think has stopped for a vacation in Oslo - or so it might seem, and a padded envelope from Benefit Cosmetics. Exciting! ![]()

Spring cleaning? No, fall hauling!
I've been out hauling again, with Sephora as my main target for my September splurge. I've done a little shopping here and there, so I've received a delicious-smelling package with products from Bath & Body Works - fall is here, and anti-bacterial soap and gel is always a good thing to have at hand. I accidentally came across a wonderful woman in Thailand selling gorgeous handmade rings in .925 Sterling Silver, so I had one made to fit my finger perfectly. It's a Chihuahua! A Chihuahua ring. I naturally had to own one. I absolutely adore it!
A few days ago M·A·C launched their Disney collaboration, and after a lot of back and forth I decided to take a stand and not buy a single item from it. The collection is called Venomous Villains, and could have been a fantastic collaboration. Unfortunately the packaging is really turning me off with its cheap and tacky look, not something I'd expect from M·A·C.
Clarisonic Mia™ Sonic Skin Cleansing System
The main item I was out to invest in - and I say invest because of the price - was a Clarisonic Mia™ Sonic Skin Cleansing System with the GoClear Clarifying Cleanser. The reason why I chose to order it from Sephora was because I wanted to get a few other items while I was at it. I decided for my Mia™ to be pink, simply because Clarisonic make a donation to help fund the fight against breast cancer every time a Pink Clarisonic is sold - to be honest I absolutely hate the color, but I like to do something good when I get the chance. Oh, and according to Sephora this Clarisonic Mia™ is a limited edition, although I can't figure out why.
Urban Decay The Black Palette
The second item I wanted to get my hands on was The Black Palette, the newest palette from Urban Decay. It consists of six dark, dark colors which apparently make you look like a rock star. OK, maybe not, but I really liked the look of this palette and the value of having a variety of.. different blackened colors, if that makes any sense.
The six eyeshadows are Black Dog (richest matte black), Barracuda (black with silvery sparkly shift), Jet (black with purple sparkly shift), Sabbath (black with blue sparkly shift), Cobra (black with golden sparkly shift) and Libertine (black with emerald sparkly shift) - a travel size 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero and a mini Primer Potion in Eden, a color I haven't had the chance to try yet.
I know, yet another palette from Urban Decay, but at least this one has all new colors! Duplicates-Schmuplicates, we all know I need these palettes.
MAKE UP FOR EVER Rock For Ever Aqua Eyes
Some time ago Amira bought me a set (Aqua Eyes Collection 25 years) of these gorgeous Aqua Eyes pencils from MUFE, and when I saw that Sephora sold this limited edition consisting of five pencils in Gold 9L (metallic gold), Bronze 10L (metallic bronze), Dark Grey 21L (dark metallic grey), Mat Black 0L (black), Silver 8L (metallic silver) I just had to add it to my collection. I also figure these will work nicely in combination with the palette I mentioned above.
I will be back with more information on my purchases, and also a review of the Clarisonic Mia™ Sonic Skin Cleansing System for those of you who might be interested. I've heard a lot of good stuff about these Clarisonic products, so I'm anxious to try it out. Several people have told me positive things about the Clarisonic Mia™ in specific, and I'm looking for an easy but thorough way of cleaning my face every day - this seems to be my solution.

UD ♥ NYC
So the saga continues, and I am quite possibly one of the most inconsistent human beings out there. You see, Urban Decay recently launched their third Book of Shadows - a tribute to all what's good in New York City - and even though I was ready with my laptop, my PayPal and everything just when it launched, I missed it. Yes, I was planning on getting it despite of my earlier rant about the never ending duplicity problem with most palettes from Urban Decay, but alas.. it was completely sold out in about ten minutes, and the chaos was absolute.
Urban Decay did tweet asking their followers not to buy this palette on eBay, but since it had been launched in the UK before the US I couldn't see any harm in poking around eBay to find it. I mean, sure.. there are a lot of sharks out there trying to earn a few shitload of quick bucks - or the double, if possible - off a limited edition product like this, but when I found it on eBay being sold by a UK seller offering international shipping in addition to a reasonable price (retail actually!), I really didn't see the harm in buying it off eBay. This was in the middle of September.
When I went to the US in 2002 I visited New York City and it made a great impression on me. Still now, eight years later, I exclaim: "I've been there!" every single time I see Times Square on TV. I don't have the first Book of Shadows, but I did manage to get my paws on the second and the Alice in Wonderland one. The third Book of Shadows had to be mine, and I'm happy to announce that this palette has several colors - nine as a matter of fact, I say nine because two of them are Sephora exclusives - which are 100% new. Fantastic! These nine new colors are called: "Bordello", "Kush", "Loaded", "Money", "Radium", "Rockstar", "Suspect", "Haight" and "Psychedelic Sister" whereas the last two have been released in the US only.
Of course, as I've talked about before you're bound to get a few duplicates if you already own some of the previous palettes from Urban Decay. It's the same thing with those travel sized 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils, they come with every palette and you'll eventually end up with quite a few. This third Book of Shadows is no exemption as you'll get two eye pencils in "Zero" (black) and "Ransom" (purple) - and a little Primer Potion of the original kind. On the other hand, no matter how you choose to look at it you'll still have seven brand new eyeshadows and a awesome palette which lights up - yes, it actually lights up when you open it - and have detailed little cut-outs from the city of New York.
So, seven brand new eyeshadows from Urban Decay? Yes please! ![]()
