Summer Hauling

So guess who's been out hauling again? Yep, that's right. That would indeed be me. Or I haven't really been out, I've just used my precious Internet access to the rest of the (fabulous) world (of shopping). Lunacy? Maybe, but oh.. so fun! My collective haul has been sitting at MyUS, just waiting for my Converse Dr. Seuss All Stars to arrive so everything could be shipped combined, and today the glorious red and yellow box arrived!

Hauling from February through May

It's time for another collective haul post, and this time it's all M·A·C. Surprised? I didn't think so. If you don't know that a "collective haul" is it means that it's a collection of several smaller hauls listed together as one. Items mentioned below was purchased through several orders from M·A·C from February to May 2010.

I was a little reluctant to listing this collective haul seeing as many people think of it as bragging, but I enjoy haul posts and videos myself and I know I'm not the only one out there. I've mentioned several of these smaller hauls before in earlier posts, I just haven't gotten around to have them shipped to me in Norway until now which is why I have this large collective haul to tell you about now. As you can see quite a few of these items are from the Spring Colour Forecast collection which was launched in February, but as it was a large collection I ended up dividing the haul into several smaller hauls done over a period of about three months - and I wrote about other parts of it here, here and here.

Mr. Postman is back on track!

I almost didn't believe my ears when Øyvind told me that Mr. Postman had left a package for me today. It was from one of my all-time favorite sellers on eBay, containing some items from M·A·C Spring Colour Forecast and Give Me Liberty of London. I got "Shell Pearl" (pale peach with gold pearl) beauty powder, "Ever Hip" (creamy light coral) and "Bubblegum" (light lavender pink) lipsticks, "Lavender Wind" (lavender with pearl) and "A Different Groove" (deep purple brown with pearl) lipglass. I didn't order that last one, but it had somehow been mistaken as "Perennial High Style" - everyone can make mistakes and I'm quite sure the seller will fix this for me. I bought these items on April 21st, and got an e-mail telling me that they had been shipped on April 22nd.

While I was writing this I actually got an e-mail from the seller, and everything has been taken care of. I'll get my "Perennial High Style" as promised. One of eBay's finest indeed!

Last Tuesday I wrote about my long awaited shipment from Anastasia Beverly Hills, which arrived looking like someone had chewed it up and spit it out. I e-mailed customer service to inform them of the damage (with pictures), and they were kind enough to send me a replacement. It was shipped by DHL on April 21st, and I was told that it should reach me within a week. Only five working days later (April 26th), Mr. DHL rang to deliver a brand new, flawless 6-Element Essential Brow Set. Amazing! And a huge thanks to Anastasia Beverly Hills for replacing the brow set.

Don't you just love it when everything runs smoothly? Grin

Organizing Reorganizing

M·A·C Blush Ombre Vintage GrapeI didn't think of my already planned rendezvous with Mr. DHL when I said that I didn't expect much more mail in a while, and I'm sorry about that. I didn't mean to lie to you. He came knocking on Monday, and the shipment he brought me contained items from my latest M·A·C splurge, which I mentioned briefly here. It was mainly a Give Me Liberty of London-haul, but the package also held one Blush Ombre Vintage Grape and the Eye Colour 3 quad (Mink Pink (veluxe), Bruised Plum (veluxe pearl), Black Tulip (frost), Jungle Moon (matte)) from Spring Colour Forecast, Naked lip pencil from Too Fabulous, powder blush pro palette refill pans in Pinch Me (sheertone) and Dollymix (sheertone shimmer), four empty M·A·C palettes, and least but not last my Stila haul.

It also held a few items that I'd agreed to CP for someone else, and I really enjoy making others happy whenever I have the chance. It's also a nice way of saying "thank you" for helping me getting my hands on products I couldn't have gotten elsewhere when someone has done a CP for me a couple of times. I'm happy to help!

Now I'm doing some organizing again, trying to sort out what I have and what I might need. Who am I kidding? I don't need anything. I've decided to reorganize my M·A·C palettes once again, and update my pictures - I have added a few eyeshadows to my collection since the last pictures were shot. When that is done I'm planning to use one palette for the 15 colors I use most frequently, and that way I don't have to bring out three or four different palettes every time I'm doing my makeup. See, I'm smart (I wonder how long it actually took me to realize that that would be a good idea). I'll just leave open spaces in the different color palettes, and this makes it easy to pop them back into the correct palette when I decide to switch them around a little, without having to reorganize everything once again. The problem returns whenever I buy another eyeshadow pot which requires depotting, and therefore also a space in a palette, and I have to rearrange them all to make room. Why do we bring these problems down on ourselves?

My latest lemming is the NARS Sheer Glow in Stromboli, although I'm not completely sure that Stromboli would be the correct color for my skin tone. I'm thinking that I'll check it out when I go to Paris in July, at least I can have it matched instead of ending up buying the wrong color online - and flushing the $42 down the drain. If anyone has something to add, maybe a tip or two on choosing the correct color, please slip me a comment.

Hauling from November through January

Imagine the disappointment when I woke up and discovered that Mr. DHL had tried to call me while I was visiting Nemo in Dreamland? I quickly checked my tracking information, just to discover the message: "address information needed, please contact DHL", so I did. Luckily I'm blessed with a Mr. DHL that now knows my name and where I live, so that wasn't really an issue, but I returned his call too late to get my shipment delivered today. Bummer! But as you all know, I already have the perfect man in my life. He doesn't only bring me roses, chocolates and jewelery - he also brings me packages, and today was no exception. He went out, collected my package from DHL, and made my Monday perfect.
