My kingdom for a.. HAUL?

I promised to update with a haul post from Paris, showing what makeup products I ended up buying while we were there, so here goes! I visited Sephora a couple of times, both M·A·C and M·A·C Pro, and even though I didn't get to go by the MUFE Boutique I still managed to accumulate quite a nice selection of items. I'm sorry for slightly poor editing, but we had to work quickly to get the most out of the daylight which wasn't really much considering the downright depressing weather we have.

Disclaimer:
Everything shown or mentioned below was bought with my own money, unless otherwise stated. I saved up for this trip beforehand, because I knew I was going to shop for makeup amongst other things. Also, eight of the ten lipsticks I added to my collection was financed by Back2MAC, which means I didn't pay for any of them.

Goodies from NARS, MUFE, Lancôme and M·A·C

I have no idea why, but I'm having serious problems expressing myself nowadays. I feel like all my posts regarding any received mail all start the same way, and it's bothering me. Even my heading feels useless. Oh well, today Mr. Postman came knocking with a package from Amira. She's always a sweetheart, and this time she'd sent me some goodies from NARS, M·A·C, MUFE and Lancôme.

The NARS Monoï Body Glow II was a free gift with purchase, so I'm actually quite excited that Amira told me about this limited time offer - if you are to order it from their website it costs $58, or about 376,- NOK with today's exchange rate! The Aqua Cream from MUFE is a fairly new product, a waterproof cream shadow in many different and bright colors. The four I received were originally Amira's, but when she turned out to be allergic to them she decided to sell them off - and they ended up in my hands instead. I promise to give them a good home!

I've been talking about the NARS Sheer Glow Foundation for quite some time now, and Ingrid helped me look for the most suitable color for my skin tone. She suggested "Punjab" even though I thought it was a little strange since that the color TiffanyD uses, but I decided to trust Ingrid and go for it. I haven't tried it on my skin yet, but when I hold the bottle up to my face it looks pretty much as an exact match. What does this tell me? I'm winter pale, and horrible.

M·A·C To the Beach High-Light Powder: Marine Life"Marine Life", the high-light powder from M·A·C To the Beach, is an altogether different story. It was sold out from M·A·C two days before this collection was even officially launched, and it all happened within three hours from the first sighting. Crazy! Thankfully it launched in France before it hit the US, and Amira was sweet enough to order one for me there instead, together with the two interesting eye shadows in that collection. I'm forever grateful, it's such a treasure! From all the swatches I've seen of this high-light powder, it's much more a blush than anything else. The gold overspray will go away after a couple of sweeps, but since I don't have the heart to ruin mine I'll keep it untouched.

I'm a tiny bit sad that I didn't get "Hipness" blush and "Temperature Rising" lip pencil, but what the hell. It's not the end of the world, although it would have been a couple of months ago. I'm feeling proud here!

Apart from that I got an e-mail telling me that my mirror had been shipped - finally! - and that I should expect it to arrive on Tuesday. Due to this frigging strike that's been going on, it was majorly delayed. Oh, and I've also gone ahead and ordered myself a few bottles of Bath & Body Works Body Splash in Country Apple, Fresh Pineapple and Sunset Mango. I don't know if any of these are something I'll end up liking, so if not.. I might just organize a little contest or giveaway for my readers. I'll tell you more about each of them when I've received them.

Primer added to my stash

The last three days have been tiresome as I've been waking up with an aching neck which later evolved into a headache. I hate days like these, but they're all too familiar to me. Silly as it may sound it really helps having Theo around, I find it really difficult to resist smiling when he shoves his nose into my ear and demands to be cuddled with. As a result of the pain I haven't been up to much lately, apart from sitting online on Facebook playing these idiotic little games like Happy Pets and Farmville, and organizing a little. I haven't gotten around to starting on my palettes yet, but soon.

My computer desk was starting getting clogged up with all kinds of makeup which I'm planning try out and possibly write a review about, so I decided to hijack the small desktop "dresser" Øyvind was going to use for important papers, letters and bills. It's from IKEA and has three drawers big enough to fit an A4 sheet of paper. A perfect little "dresser" to keep the makeup I use most frequently close at hand, and organized at the same time. At least my computer desk is a lot more tidy now, and I know exactly where my things are when I need them. I spent some time looking for my M·A·C Mineralized Skinfinish in Medium until I remembered that I actually never bought it myself, and that mine was Medium Dark - which I already had in my hand.

I've also finally gotten around to getting my hands on a primer, a face or foundation primer, and this time I went for a product from GOSH. It's called Velvet Touch Foundation Primer, and it looks very promising. Now I just need my body to shape up a bit, and my eagerness and enthusiasm to return, so I can start playing with my "toys" again. I had a go with my Make Up For Ever HD Foundation the other day, but I didn't like it at all. I'm possibly the only human being on Earth disliking this foundation. Mine is in the color 120 "Soft Sands", and it's a good match for my winter skin tone - during summer I'd have to go darker. Now, I didn't use any primer when I tried this foundation, so I'm going to give it one more chance with a primer underneath to see if there's any difference at all. There's a good chance that I'll have to ship it off to England for Ingrid instead, there's no use in throwing it away - or leaving it unused in a drawer somewhere.

I'll get back to you with my final verdict!

Step lively, Mr. Postman

We're already one week into 2010, and I can't say that I'm very pleased with the beginning of this new year. It's supposed to become the best year ever and everything! It's cold as crap, and my mood drops to the floor simultaneously with the temperature outside, and -18'C just isn't humane. The one thing that picks my mood right back up is shopping, and Theo of course, but I can't be shopping all the time. So, I'm comforting myself by reading blogs about what other people have been hauling, watching videos on YouTube and pictures on Twitter. I have some common sense, because when I'm not even sure what to shop, well.. then it's the perfect time to refrain from shopping, instead of ending up with all kinds of unnecessary things.

And I'm really wondering where Mr. Postman has gone this time? Maybe he has taken to his senses and gone on vacation somewhere warm, but you know.. I would still very much appreciate to have my mail delivered. I'm thinking that he might have frozen to death, it's very well possible, and that's why I'm not getting my mail. I'm waiting for a few packages I ordered before the holidays, and I'm starting to get anxious that I'll never see them. Maybe they've been stolen or lost somewhere, and that worries me. Previous experience, and so on. *sigh*

I'm also waiting for a package from my sweet Amira in France containing my new MUFE palettes, in addition to some other goodies. I'm so exited, and I can hardly wait to start organizing my M·A·C shadows into these two MUFE palettes. M·A·C in MUFE palettes? Outrageous, you say? Each of these palettes take 45 shadows, that's three M·A·C palettes, and they have no stupid plastic insert. I can feel my inner OCD squealing out of pure happiness, seeing that I can now put ALL my brown eyeshadows together in one palette instead of splitting them into two (or more). Same thing with my purple ones! It'll be so neat. In a way I'm all against putting my precious M·A·C shadows into other brands palette, but when MUFE has come up with a palette that fits 45 M·A·C shadows perfectly, magnetized and all - instead of M·A·C's own 16 well palettes, there's no doubt in my mind. Sure you can pull the plastic divider out of the M·A·C palettes, but it's impossible to organize them well as they don't fit properly without the wells, so my OCD just won't allow it.

So please Mr. Postman, hurry up with my packages. Bring them to me quickly! Receiving mail makes me happy, and I'm dying to start organizing my eyeshadows. And fear not, I'll post pictures of these beauties once I'm done. So sleek, so sexy, so genius!

Haul: collective

DHL came to deliver two packages from MyUS today, and I've got a big smile on my face! I finally got my hands on all the items that have been accumulating at my US-address since August! One of them contained candles from Yankee Candle®, and the other one contained some goodies from Sephora! Yes.. once again I caved, and ordered a few things from Sephora. Let me just stress that this happened sometime between August and now, and not recently. I haven't gotten around to place a shipping order before now, as I figured it would be nice to have my stuff before Christmas. I seriously don't understand why we don't have Sephora in Norway, we're missing out on all the fun! The package also held the two M·A·C brushes that I ordered almost 6 months ago, that was damaged the first time I got them - and this time they were in perfect shape. Finally!
