My Paradise is at Cap Ferrat
I almost jumped from joy when Mr. Postman finally stopped by with a package for me yesterday. I say 'finally' because Mr. Postman seems to be taking his time nowadays. The package contained goodies I wouldn't have been able to get my hands on if it hadn't been for Fieran and her man, so thank you so much to the both of you! Please let me know if I can do anything in return. I'd be more than happy to be of assistance. ![]()
"My Paradise"
Hauls + Splurges = Treasures
Even though I've decided to stop shopping for a while, I had to ask Øyvind to stop by DHL today to pick up a package for me. Mr. DHL didn't call me this morning, although the tracking told me that my package had arrived and was sitting in their office, all lonely and sad. It contained a collective haul consisting of products from M·A·C, Urban Decay, Origins, Stila, Benefit, Jack Black and Tarte! Man, that list made it sound like I've gone mad with my VISA once again, but I swear it wasn't that bad. I've actually been a good girl since I said I'd stop shopping for a while to save up some fun money for Paris, apart from a tiny little slip where I ended up getting a few items from M·A·C when ordering some things for a good friend of mine. Oh well, nothing too bad at least, and I think I've been good.

Let's move on to my precious DHL shipment, shall we? I'm well aware of my list being a bit long, but bear in mind that these items have accumulated through April and May and some where purchased at a discount.
Easter Shopping
Somehow I imagined there would be no shopping while in the middle of nowhere, also known as "home", but apparently there's no payday without at least a little shopping.. not even now that I've decided to start saving up money for Paris! I'm so weak I'm actually a bit ashamed of myself. I like eBay, and I've just purchased a pair of sunglasses which is something I actually need, so my conscience is.. pretty much clean. Not so long ago I watched a video by Macbarbie07, and I liked her sunglasses so much that I went on a mission to find out which model it was she was wearing. Unfortunately the temples of her model "Bronson" were too long for my tiny head.. I mean, I currently own a pair of Ray-Ban Junior sunglasses! I then changed my mind and started lemming a pair of "Classic" instead, but when the color I preferred turned out to be discontinued, I ended up with a pair of "Sweetest" sunglasses. I don't know when they'll arrive, I'm just hoping they won't be too large for my small face, making me look like some kind of insect. I can't stand that hideous trend. If they look amazing on me, I'll post a picture when I get them, promise.
Mr. Postman stopped by with two packages for me yesterday. One contained a 184 Duo Fibre Fan brush from M·A·C, and the second package held two Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blushes in "Tipsy" (coral) and "Natural Beauty" (muted strawberry red), two gorgeous blushes I managed to get my hands on thanks to Line! I could have ordered them from Sephora via MyUS, but this way I got them straight in my mailbox - much less hassle, and much quicker. For swatches of the Tarte Amazonian Clay blushes, take a look here and here.
Fieran also offered to buy me a few nail polishes from Deborah Lippmann, a brand I haven't tried before. Even though I certainly have enough nail polishes, I decided take her up on the offer and get three bottles: two glitters and one creme. The first one was "I Know What Boys Like", which is the periwinkle blue polish from the new summer collection. Who doesn't love periwinkle? Swatches to be found at Ommorphia Beauty Bar. The second one was "Lady Sings the Blues" (silver sparkled blue), a polish that immediately caught my attention after seeing swatches by Scrangie - and the third one was "Ruby Red Pumps" (Dorothy's shimmering ruby), a mesmerizing polish if I should judge by the swatches at Laquerized.
Now I'm going MIA for the weekend. ![]()
Have a good one, people!

I heart MyUS and US Unlocked
Mr. DHL made my day a lot better by calling me up early this morning to tell me he'd stop by later on to deliver a package for me. It wasn't that exciting as I hadn't gone completely overboard this time. It contained my M·A·C Jeanius haul + both blushes in "Overdyed" (bright magenta) and "Pink Cult" (midtone dirty neutral pink), the M·A·C Pink Power MSF from Wonder Woman, M·A·C Gotta Dash! (pale clean coral) from Sheen Supreme, some bottles of PocketBac® and a few drugstore items.
I recently found out that I could order from Drugstore, something I've been wanting to do for a long time, so I ordered the items listed below. It's quite weird that we have most of these brands in Norway, but not these particular products - at least not as I know of, and several of the items on my list are highly praised among my fellow American makeup addicts. I paid a total of $40 or about 217,- NOK with today's exchange rate.
- Maybelline Great Lash Clear Mascara for Lash and Brow
- L'Oreal HIP Bright Duos Shadow in "224 Showy"
- L'Oreal HIP Color Rich Cream Eyeliner in "945 Teal"
- L'Oreal Lineur Intense Felt Tip Eyeliner in "960 Carbon Black"
- Chapstick Classic Lip Balm SPF 4 in "Cherry" and "Spearmint"
- Chapstick Medicated Skin Protectant/External Analgesic Lip Balm
- Nivea Lip Care in "Milk & Honey" and "A Kiss of Shimmer"
There won't be a lot of hauling to read about for a while now, I need so save up for our upcoming trip to Paris. I have to have at least a little money to spend in Sephora (where I can use my black membership card), M·A·C, Galeries Lafayette and wherever else I feel the need to splurge a little. ![]()
Snow Storms and Lipsticks
The weather has been hideous the last few days, apparently we're experiencing arctic storms somewhere off the coast, with one minute of sunshine and a severe snow storm the next. So frustrating, I want spring now! Nonetheless I wanted to venture out for a bit. The reason? I survived a meeting I had dreaded very much for a couple of weeks now, and I even ended up smiling and I felt like that was reason enough for a little trip to the mall - McDonald's and M·A·C, here I come!
After eating I had to take a quick detour to The Body Shop to check if they had something new and exciting to tempt me with, and of course they did! So I picked up one of their new Earth Lovers™ Shower Gels in Apricot & Basil - would someone please get me a straw so I can drink it? It smells so delicious! It's a 100% biodegradable shower gel in a 100% recycled plastic bottle. When I was on my way to the counter to pay for it I noticed an ad for a lip product called Lip Line Fixer, which is a retractable, colorless pencil made to prevent lipstick from bleeding and help 'fill' fine lines. Even though I don't use lip products that often, I decided to buy one to try. According to nine reviews on MakeupAlley it seems to be a good product, so I'm kinda excited about it - and a colorless lip pencil sounds neat!
Even though I do my best to stay away from the M·A·C counter when I'm at Trondheim Torg, I couldn't resist stopping by today. I wanted to check out their new Sheen Supreme lipsticks, especially since Fieran had sent me the pink one called "Behave Yourself" (light blue pink) - thank you so much, sweetheart! I wore it today and I absolutely loved the way it looked on my lips. I'd describe it as something between a lip gloss and a lipstick, and it gave my lips a sheer, subtle hint of pink. Perfection! Since I really liked this pink lipstick, I wanted to check out a few of the other colors while I was at Trondheim Torg. I had my heart set on "Gotta Dash" (pale clean coral) and "Full Speed" (bright clean yellow pink), but they were out of "Gotta Dash". I haven't tried "Full Speed" yet, but I adore the color! You can see swatches of the new Sheen Supremes here, here and here on Temptalia.
