YSL Rouge Pur Couture: 30 Corail Fauviste

YSL Pur Couture: Corail FauvisteEver since Amira told me how fantastic the YSL Pur Couture lipsticks are I've been wanting to try them out myself. She offered to CP a few of them for me, and I eventually managed to choose Rouge Saadi and Le Fuchsia to start with. Unfortunately I haven't received them yet, but I'll post pictures and possibly swatches once I do. In the meanwhile feel free to check out Amira's own post about these beauties here.

Now, after spending some time looking online for good swatches of these lipsticks, I suddenly came across a shade I hadn't seen before. I'm a sucker for those coral-orange shades, so I instantly wanted to add this one to my collection. It turned out to be one of the new shades released with YSL Bohème Libertine Spring 2011, created by Lloyd Simmonds. I was told that these shades was available in boutiques only, but this one now seems to be available online. I'm not sure if it'll stay available, or what, but I picked up mine from eBay.

Don't you just love the sleek golden packaging? The way the YSL monogram is embossed into the actual lipstick makes it so classy. The color is intense, and I'm glad I chose 30 Corail Fauviste! For a more detailed view, please click the image above.

“Yves Saint Laurent's must–have autumn⁄winter lipstick collection has a bespoke element, with the addition of a cola brown and pure white shade for blending and customising with the other shades to create your own, unique YSL lip colour. Designed by YSL’s creative director Stefano Pilati. Pilati's lipstick collection offers a range of colours divided into three families – reds, fuchsias and oranges, while its fine pigment ensures a lip colour that is intense, slick and super–nourishing. With SPF 15: 3.5g.”

NARS Flamenco and Fire Down Below

I recently came across two lipsticks that really tickled my curiosity while actually searching for something completely different. It happens. Rather often. At least to me it does. It might seem like I've joined the lipstick craze should I be judging from my latest posts, but I couldn't pass up on these gorgeous red lipsticks from NARS. Despite the fact that I own eyeshadow duos, blushes and bronzers by NARS, I've never owned a lipstick or a gloss until just recently. I've also looked into their Lip Lacquers, but more about those later.

Sleek True Colour Lipstick

On May 16th I received a newsletter from Sleek MakeUP promoting their new lipsticks, True Colour. Normally I'm not very interested in lip products because I'm extremely good at purchasing, and not half as good when it comes to using and wearing. I'm also one of those who find it intimidating to wear a bold lip which is quite frustrating since I actually own quite a few lipsticks, but also because I love bright colors. I ended up disregarding my own principals and ordered three of the True Colours: "Papaya Punch", "Coral Reef" and "OMG".

Mr. Postman brought them to me only five days after ordering - and my first impression of these lipsticks was very good. They come in a sleek (no pun intended) black oval tube with the same feel as rest of their packaging. My initial thought was that these tubes were a lot smaller than for instance those from M·A·C, but they are in fact 3.5 grams and that's .5 grams more than said competitor. I'm unsure why I picked three so similar colors, but I'm quite happy with my choice anyway. Coral is one of my favorite colors for summer, and it seems like "Papaya Punch" and "Coral Reef" are pretty much identical apart from the fact that "Papaya Punch" is a matte lipstick, while both "Coral Reef" and "OMG" are sheens. I swatched quickly them on my hand, and they are all very soft and pigmented.

Sleek True Colour lipsticks are €7 each, which would be about 55,- NOK.

Makeup Collection: Lipsticks #1

MAC lipsticksVegas Volt, Colour Me Coral, Viva Glam Cyndi, Made to Order, Dressmaker Dressmaker

MAC lipsticksSmoked Purple, Lavender Whip, Up the Amp, Bubblegum, Blooming Lovely

I wanted to start a little series called "Makeup Collection". I guess it should have been called "M·A·C Collection", but even though I'm not afraid to admit that I own mostly products from M·A·C, I do have products from other brands as well. I'm not sure how this series will turn out, but I was really pleased with the pictures from my "Paris Haul of Lipsticks", and wanted to repeat the success.

I therefore decided to take some new pictures of my lipsticks, and post them here for you to see. I haven't done any swatches, and I'm don't think I will - there are already so many good swatches out there on the Internet. If you see a lipstick you like and want to see swatches, either do a search in Google - "lipstick name swatch" is a good start - or ask me if I can provide you with one. I'll do the same with my palettes when I'm done organizing them for those of you who are interested in a little peak into my collection.

If you have any questions at all, don't hesitate to leave me a comment or send me an e-mail. Smile

Paris Haul: Lipsticks

The Paris Haul: MAC Cosmetics LipsticksSpeak Louder, Lovelorn, Creme d'Nude, High Tea, Peachstock

The Paris Haul: MAC Cosmetics LipsticksMorange, Rebel, Red Pepper, Chili, Ladybug

As I promised yesterday here's pictures of all the lipsticks I got in Paris. Some are from the regular M·A·C store, while some are from M·A·C Pro. You'll find their names under each picture, from left to right. I haven't added their finishes, but if you really want to know the finish of a specific lipstick, then just leave me a comment below. I feel like I'm repeating myself endlessly, but do remember that eight of these lipsticks was financed by Back2MAC, which means I actually only paid for two.

Some of you know I've been on a hunt for a red lipstick for a very long time. I mean, it's not difficult finding a red lipstick, but I'm drawn to the ones with a blue undertone - and they make me look like a two-dollar hooker. The look I'm going for is something like hot and sexy, not cheap and tacky - and I just adore red lips on a mysterious brunette! Unfortunately I have yet to find the perfect shade of red for myself, but I hope some of these will be suitable.

These pictures make me smile, I guess that proves that I'm most certainly a color junkie! Smile
