IMATS London 2012

Sadly, another awesome day filled with makeup, wonder and fantastic people is over. I was sad to leave Alexandra Palace for the last time, knowing that the IMATS adventure of 2012 was already over. My London adventure isn't quite over yet, and I hope I'll get the opportunity to come back for IMATS 2013. It's been an exciting, fun, overwhelming, exhausting and just.. amazing weekend I'll keep close to my heart, and never forget!

Today was a lot calmer than yesterday, surely because England experienced a "heavy" snowfall last night, causing quite a lot of traffic chaos. Trains weren't leaving their stations, buses didn't go up hills, cars had trouble making turns in general. Oddly enough they don't seem to be used to snow over here, and are all driving on summer tires. Thankfully we had no problems getting around, so getting to Ally Pally was a breeze. I didn't haul a lot, as I spent most of my money on yesterday's treasures, but it didn't make my day less eventful, on the contrary! First and foremost I had the pleasure of spending the day with my dearest Pinchypeach, who always brightens my day no matter what. Then I met Koren also known as EnKore on YouTube, Chirufus from Twitter, the darling Alex C. from Illamasqua (and I finally got to give her a hug), and a little later we "ran into" Nicola and Samantha Chapman from Pixiwoo! Luckily we got to talk to them before everyone else discovered that they had arrived, and they were really wonderful. It's really strange meeting people like that, you feel like you've known them forever (just from watching all their videos or reading their blogs).

I don't know what it is, but I've been feeling really at home here. No one looks twice at me (the wheelchair), not even the children, and people are polite and helpful everywhere. In IMATS it felt amazing to be in an environment full of others sharing the same interest and passion for makeup as myself, as well as experiencing the talent of the students doing their projects and exploring the different brands and booths. IMATS London 2012 might be over, but it has been a fantastic weekend. And should you ever get the chance to attend, then go!

Treasures from Illamasqua

It's no secret that I'm a big fan of Illamasqua, I think I say that every time I blog about them, but it's true. When I received my last package from them containing items from Theatre of the Nameless, I knew I had to order a few more items. From that collection I decided on the Pure Pigment in "Berber", mainly because it's somewhat of an unique color, their Precision Ink in "Havoc" - everyone needs an aubergine eyeliner - and false lashes called "Grandeur". I won't say I'm disappointed in these lashes, as I really do like them, but they don't really look like the ones depicted at Illamasqua? In addition to these items I also ordered two Medium Pencils in "Vow" and "S.O.P.H.I.E.", and a nail polish in "Raindrops". It's such a dreamy color. Reminds me of those childhood days spent indoors looking out on the rain running down the window. Brings back memories.

The S.O.P.H.I.E. pencil is a special item from Illamasqua. It's a black Medium Pencil named in honor of Sophie Lancaster, and £3 from every purchase will go to the Sophie Lancaster Foundation. If you don't know who Sophie Lancaster was, please take the time to read this - it's such a sad story. Help raise awareness!

Illamasqua Theatre of the Nameless

When Mr. Postman brought me a black padded envelope on Saturday I was really excited when I recognized it to be a package from Illamasqua! They recently launched their new collection Theatre of the Nameless, and I received three items from this dark and sexy collection: a cream pigment, a pure pigment and a nail varnish. Oh, how I love Illamasqua!

"In this nocturnal den of the dissident leaders of underworld subcultures, exotic dancers rub shoulders with actors and anarchists. It's time to cross the threshold and embrace a world of unadulterated decadence."

Cream Pigment in "Androgen" · Pure Pigment in "Zeitgeist" · Nail Varnish in "Kink"

The Cream Pigments was first launched with Toxic Nature, which you can read a little about here. With the new Theatre of the Nameless they launched two new colors: "Androgen" (coral) and "Depravity" (magenta), and I received one of them. I love these pigments, and the versatility of them. "Androgen" is a quite bright coral color, and I can imagine it used in eye looks or even blended out as a blush for my complexion.

The Pure Pigment has been available for quite some time now, and I already own a few of them - such fantastic colors! They now launched three new colors: "Beguile" (light shimmer), "Berber" (auburn shimmer) and "Zeitgeist" (dark shimmer), from which I received the latter. It's a charcoal blackish color with shimmer, and I think it'll be perfect for just about any smokey eye combination. Just pop a little in the outer corner, and you'll instantly add a little mystery and some depth to your look!

I think the four new nail varnishes from this collection was the most exciting product of them all, mainly because they feature a new rubberized finish. From the four varnishes "Faux Pas" (blue violet), "Kink" (bottle green), "Vice" (deep cerise) and "Taint" (stone brown) I received the bottle green "Kink", and I have to say it's my favorite of the bunch. It might just be the perfect deep, dark green for fall? I'll be posting some pictures of it on my nails later on, and I'll also be doing a review of it.

In addition to the three products, I also received a gorgeous catalog promoting all the new products as well as their regular stock, and a personal note sealed with wax. So classy! I guess I'll just have to wait until I have a little fun money to spare, so I can pick up two more things from this collection. Wink

More Toxic Nature!

Illamasqua Toxic Nature

Today Mr. Postman dropped off a black box from Illamasqua, and once again I was quite surprised to receive a package from them. As I opened it up I couldn't avoid letting out a little squeal, as I found four items and a mixing palette from their upcoming collection Toxic Nature inside!

I received two of their new Cream Pigments in Emerge (peach) and Delirium (rosy taupe), a Nail Varnish in Radium (acidic lime shimmer) and a Precision Ink in Glister. I don't know what to say! I feel like she who sends me these packages really know me, because I always get the items I like the most. Unfortunately it's pretty much impossible to capture the shimmer in Radium, but it looks nothing like anything I've seen before, and it's truly a special color. I'll post pictures of Radium on my nails as soon as I'm up to it!

Illamasqua Toxic Nature

I'm pretty sure I'll be adding more items from Toxic Nature to my own collection when it's launched, as I really, really like these Cream Pigments and how you can use them for several things, and I'm unable to resist the gorgeous orange lipstick and matching lipgloss.

Feeling intrigued? Read more about Toxic Nature here.
