Warning: Nail Polish Pr0n
Mr. Postman always makes my day. On October 6th he came by with my very first order from Nail Supplies. Since I had a moment of boredom a while back I went a little crazy for nail polishes, and this is my haul. I have no idea why I keep hoarding nail polish, but I cannot seem to avoid it. Thank goodness for thinner! So today my Small Flat Rate arrived in my mailbox, filled to the brim with gorgeous nail polishes in wonderful colors perfect for fall! I also finally got around to picking up two new base/top coats: CND™ Stickey™ and Gelous™ Gel - the latter is said to be a very good coat for topping off glitter polishes, because of its thicker consistency.
Treasures from Illamasqua
It's no secret that I'm a big fan of Illamasqua, I think I say that every time I blog about them, but it's true. When I received my last package from them containing items from Theatre of the Nameless, I knew I had to order a few more items. From that collection I decided on the Pure Pigment in "Berber", mainly because it's somewhat of an unique color, their Precision Ink in "Havoc" - everyone needs an aubergine eyeliner - and false lashes called "Grandeur". I won't say I'm disappointed in these lashes, as I really do like them, but they don't really look like the ones depicted at Illamasqua? In addition to these items I also ordered two Medium Pencils in "Vow" and "S.O.P.H.I.E.", and a nail polish in "Raindrops". It's such a dreamy color. Reminds me of those childhood days spent indoors looking out on the rain running down the window. Brings back memories.
The S.O.P.H.I.E. pencil is a special item from Illamasqua. It's a black Medium Pencil named in honor of Sophie Lancaster, and £3 from every purchase will go to the Sophie Lancaster Foundation. If you don't know who Sophie Lancaster was, please take the time to read this - it's such a sad story. Help raise awareness!

Paris Haul #2: It’s in the Eyes
It's time for the second part of my "Paris Haul" series, and this time I've dedicated my post to my favorite product: eyeshadows and the likes of it. Because of my situation I'm not much of a fan of swatching products in-store - testers are always placed out of reach for me, and I don't wanna start disassembling displays to be able to swatch them - but I did actually swatch most of the items I purchased in Paris, instead of buying blindly.
Since I'm very aware of having readers who couldn't care less about makeup and shopping, those of you who are interested will have to click "continue reading" for the juicy details, including pictures. I'll have the last part of my haul up in a few days, so please hang in there a little longer! ![]()
Paris Haul #1: Nail Polish
I guess it's time to share my enormous humble *cough* Paris makeup haul with you guys. I've been dying to show you everything I picked up ever since we returned home, but I have to say that taking photos, editing and composing such a post is quite time consuming. A huge thanks to Øyvind for acting as my personal photographer, and for bearing with me and my mighty annoying perfectionism. Sorry for the delay, but now I'm back on track.

M·A·C Venomous Villains
I know I've said more than once that I decided to skip this collection completely, as I didn't like the packaging and didn't thing it had anything special at all, until I caved and bought the two Mineralize Eyeshadow Duos because I was secretly sad I didn't get "Young Punk" and "Blue Flame" from Style Black back in September 2009. I still hate the packaging. I still think it looks both cheap and tacky, like makeup for kiddies - but as I've stated many times before I buy my items because of the actual product, not the packaging. Sounds like a lot of bullshit, doesn't it? Anyway. I caved once again a few months ago and ended up buying several more items from Venomous Villains than I ever intended to.
- Venomous Villains (September 2010)
- Sweet Joy (frost)
- De-Vil (veluxe pearl)
- Her Alter Image (veluxe pearl)
- Vainglorious (frost)
- Vile Violet (matte)
- Toxic Tale Lipstick (satin)
- Heartless Lipstick (amplified)
- Bite of an Apple Powder Blush (matte)
- Bad Fairy Nail Polish
The one item I was really sad about skipping was "Bite of an Apple" blush from The Evil Queen part of the collection. I absolutely loved the swatches I'd seen, and the color was quite unique - at least I haven't seen anything like it. The second thing I wanted was "Bad Fairy" nail polish, but I couldn't really make up my mind about it since people keep saying that nail polish from M·A·C doesn't really have the dexterity and quality as many other brands, and I was kinda convinced that "The Show Must Go On!" from O·P·I would be a quite OK dupe. It turned out it wasn't, and "Bad Fairy" is such an amazing color! Since I was already at it I also picked up two lipsticks and topped it all off with the five eyeshadows I didn't own from before.
Nice haul, right. Go ahead, mock me.
Oh willpower, where art thou?
