Shopping for Christmas
I'm kinda hoping this will be the last medical update from me in a long while since my doctor's appointment yesterday went well and all. He didn't tell me anything I didn't know, but we talked for a while about everything that has happened, my thoughts and feelings around it, and it felt good to hear that also he thinks it's anxiety that's been bothering me. Don't get me wrong, I never wished for anxiety - I'd much rather have something easily treatable - but then again, I'm starting accept that I'm actually quite healthy, despite of what my body has been trying to convince me to believe over the past.. 47 days. I also had another blood test, this time to exclude diabetes, and mission accomplished with measured glucose at 4.9 on an empty stomach.

Since I was already out of the apartment I decided to go to Cubus at the nearest mall for a little pre-Christmas shopping. I wanted to pick up another pair - I now own five pairs, whereas three of them are brand new - of those incredibly soft pajamas they start selling around Christmas. Sometimes I wish I could spend my entire life wearing my pajamas, but unfortunately I like to think I'm a bit more decent than that. PJ's FTW!
Anyway, while at Cubus I noticed the new brand MNY Maybelline and decided to try a few of their nail polishes. I didn't really like the colors in stock, but I ended up picking up a purple shimmer flecked with purple glitter and a gorgeous deep, dark blue shimmer which instantly reminded me of flowing velvet - #557 and #665. I'll try to be a good girl and come up with some swatches.. eventually, but if you're in a hurry you could always try Google. Since my HG mascara is Max Factor False Lash Effect I decided to try out the new Xperience Volumising Mascara in black. I'll let you know how it goes. Even though False Lash Effect is my go-to mascara I did kinda like their Lash Extension Effect for the days when I really want to tone it down. Extreme lengthening? I don't know about that, but still a decent mascara if you ask me.
I also did some eBay shopping. C'mon. You didn't expect me to end my little Christmas shopping post here, did you? I was looking to get the Sweet & Sugar Sparkle duo from CND, but it turned out to be an impossible task. I mean, I did find a seller who were offering both polishes, but 12 seconds before I paid for my purchase I got a message telling me that there had been a mistake, they didn't have them in stock. Bah! I wish I would stop waiting, and just get the items I want.. when I want them. This little setback naturally led me to browsing around eBay without any particular goal, and the whole escapade ended up in me ordering another six nail polishes. Yep. Six. For some reason they ended up being all O·P·I: Paris Couture for Sure (top coat), Changing of the Garnet, Diva of Geneva, Merry Midnight, DS Magic and DS Radiance.

Shopping for dog collars
On a lighter note.. I went online shopping again last night. On eBay. Shocking, huh? I've been looking for a couple of collars for Theo and Cuda for a couple of months now, and I've had a specific design in mind. It turned out to be very difficult to find these collars, even though it's supposed to be a standard collar, but late last night I struck gold and they were even reasonably priced.
Theo has a gorgeous medium brown leather collar with studs, but unfortunately it's a bit to heavy at the buckle. This causes the collar to turn around all the time, and it's annoying. It's also a bit stiff, and a little too long. When we visited Kennel Venjan to meet Cuda for the first time, we borrowed a collar for Theo and it was just perfect. It was soft, light enough to stay in place, and cute! So I decided to buy a couple of these, but I couldn't find them anywhere - until tonight. And the very best ting was the price, because I paid £4.95 a piece - that's about 137,- NOK for two collars and shipping! Since it's faux leather I'm hoping it'll be a tad bit lighter than the one Theo's already got, and the bone charm is so cute! So I ended up with a brown collar for Theo, and a black one for Cuda - and seriously, if they can't use them it's no big loss.
Sometimes I'm glad I can use our dogs as an excuse to go shopping. I mean, expecting mail isn't less exciting when it's for the little ones - one's gotta love Mr. Postman. I also ordered a couple of round ID tags, but I'm afraid they might be a bit too big for these small dogs. I paid $4.50 for two tags included individual engraving, so I'm not expecting them to be of superior quality or anything. I thought they looked cool with a cartoonish paw print in front, and ID tags are always useful.

Mr. Postman the Busy Bee!
Mr. Postman has stopped by with several packages for me this past week. Fun! Today he brought me some new nail stamping image plates from Bundle Monster (ordered through Amazon), which I just had to have after seeing this super cute mani by Neglelakkmani. It reached me in exactly 6 working days, and I'm now the proud owner of image plates from Konad, Bundle Monster and some unknown brand making the hexagonal plates you can find on eBay. Yesterday I received a .925 Sterling Silver ring also bought through eBay, and the day before I got two brushes from Sigma Makeup (the SS197 Flat Top Synthetic Kabuki). I've already told you about the gorgeous .925 Sterling Silver ring I received on Saturday, and the magnets I managed to order in the wrong size. Friday I got a package I had been waiting for for three whole weeks from BeautyBay, and inside I found the highly praised Too Faced Chocolate Soleil matte bronzer. On Thursday he brought me the rest of the Yaby eye shadows I ordered plus a palette - this time from Camera Ready Cosmetics (I ordered from them before I found PROMAKEUPSTORE, which I wrote about here), and also two Sonia Kashuk brushes I bought from my fellow Spektrette l1lmamaj.
An excellent week, if you ask me.
“Mo Anam Cara”
Mr. Postman stopped by today as well, as he has done the last three days! Imagine that, receiving mail for three days in a row. Today he brought me some more magnets for depotting, but since I suck in math I ordered the wrong size, so I now have 100+ magnets in same size as M·A·C use. If you are in need of magnets, leave me a comment or an e-mail and I'll sell you some of mine.
The other package he brought me was a small bubble wrapper, and inside was a solid .925 Sterling Silver band. I bought a band on eBay, with the inscription "Mo Anam Cara" which translates into "My Soul Mate", and it was shipped to me from Galway, Ireland. I don't know what it is, but I think a part of me must be Irish, at least in my heart and soul. I'm aware that it might be a weird thing to buy for myself, but I don't really care. I love the band, and it fits perfectly on my right middle finger. In between the three words a small Claddagh is placed. The Claddagh has had a very special place in my heart for a long time, and I always wear the Claddagh on my finger.
