The Key to Your Heart

aha design: key necklace

For quite some time now I’ve been wanting a key necklace. I didn’t want the classic ones from Tiffany & Co., and I didn’t want it to be too big either. A couple of weeks ago we were in town, and I ventured into Gullfunn where I discovered this little beauty. I prefer my jewelery in .925 Sterling Silver as opposed to gold, so I was very happy to find this little key – although I didn’t pay very close attention to the label saying “Diamond”. I was planning on buying it for myself, but Øyvind beat me to it and gave me this gorgeous necklace as a gift.

I’ll admit to be frowning slightly at the price since .925 isn’t usually that expensive – still not really noticing the “Diamond” label – but it came with a chain and was from aha® Design, so I figured that might be the reason. When we arrived home I yet again opened up the box to admire the necklace, and this time I actually noticed the tiny little stones which the key was set with. Hm, stones? And then I suddenly realized that my key was set with diamonds! Diamonds. Imagine that.

I love it – in addition to the coolness of actually owning diamonds – thank you my sweet! Heart

M·A·C for Playboy 2003

Written by Shamini on August 24, 2010 – 5:24 PM

MAC Cosmetics: Bunny PinkIn light of my recent post about this adorable bunny jacket, I find it very fitting to be talking about my newest treasure, a M·A·C for Playboy lipstick in “Bunny Pink” (clean mid-tone pink). M·A·C collaborated with Playboy long time ago, long before I discovered what was to become my absolute favorite makeup brand, but ever since I read a post on Specktra regarding a haul done by a Danish girl, I’ve been lemming these items. It’s extremely difficult to find information about this collection, but it seems like it consisted of only two items: the lipstick in “Bunny Pink”, and a glitter cream in “Playmate Pink”. Apparently a similar collection was released exclusively to Asia in 2004 with three other items: two lipsticks in “Centerfold” and “Pinkmate”, and a glitter cream in “Bunnysheen”.

I don’t have any hopes of getting my hands on the rest of these items, I know that Danish girl paid a lot of money for hers and I’m don’t want them that much, so I’m happy with my one gorgeous lipstick. Maybe M·A·C will do another collaboration with Playboy some time soon? If that happens I’ll be first in line to grab me a full set of product from this collection.

Illamasqua

Written by Shamini on August 23, 2010 – 2:50 PM

On Friday Mr. Postman brought me a black envelope branded with “ILLAMASQUA”, and I was thrilled! A few months ago I was in contact with Illamasqua, and I was told that I would receive a few items for testing and reviewing. Unfortunately the package never arrived, and I decided to write them an e-mail to ask if there had been a delay or if the package had been lost in the mail? Some might think of me as rude for asking, but I thought it would be a shame if Illamasqua was expecting a review which never came, because I was still sitting here awaiting the products. So I asked, and quite right – it had been sent, and could not be traced. Bah! Illamasqua was kind enough to reship some goodies for me, and as already said.. it arrived today.

Illamasqua: make-up for you alter ego

The first product I fished out of the envelope was one of Illamasqua’s nail polishes in “Jan”. It’s described as a “light dusky pink” with a glossy finish, an absolutely gorgeous color right up my lane. Illamasqua actually won Cosmopolitan’s Beauty Award for Best Nail Polish 2010, so I’m glad I got the chance to try it out! The second product was one of their Intense Lipgloss in “Fierce”, which is a “bright blue purple”. Do I have to spell my excitement here? The last two items in the envelope was a sneak peek of what’s coming this fall/winter! I’m quite honored. It’s an eye liner called Precision Ink, and I received one in “Abyss” (pure black) and one in “Alchemy” (spun gold), and they look amazing.

More info and a review of these products will come soon!

Exit old, enter new

Written by Shamini on August 22, 2010 – 5:46 PM

Sheesh, I’m feeling so uninspired these days. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve logged into my blog to update, but then just closed the page without typing a single word. Our window is still broken. We still have one Chihuahua, as opposed to two. I’m still a brunette. They say fall is a time for change, when some things end and others begin – not that I’m planning on going blond or anything, but there’s definitely been a change of future plans.

Due to some personal issues I’ve decided to postpone school once again, so I resigned from my spot last week. Don’t think it was an easy decision. I’ve spent several weeks pondering, talking it over with my family, trying to decide what would be best for me – but now that the decision has been made I feel only relief, and not regret. At least this time I don’t feel like a complete failure. I don’t have anything else mapped out for the coming year, but I’m sure new plans will emerge when time is ready. I haven’t worn any makeup for a very long time now, except for some mascara as I’m testing MUFE Smoky Lash Extra Black Mascara. It’s impossible to do a proper look when my pool of inspiration has dried up on me. What happened?

My neck is acting up again, and it’s frustrating wanting to do stuff without having the energy to follow through. Maybe it’s the weather. Maybe it’s the time of year. Maybe it’s just life. I hate the fall, go figure – and I hate the uncertainty of not knowing what’s coming in the near future.

Oh, how I luv you Bunny!

Written by Shamini on August 21, 2010 – 2:19 AM

Poizen Industries: Luv BunnyI think I might need someone to smack me! I’ve been sitting here for at about two hours now, just browsing websites offering alternative clothing – or what some people might call “emo clothing”. Personally I don’t have a specific style, but I always envy those who have have a style and the passion to wear it all the way. I did fall in love with another hoodie, and this one is called “Luv Bunny”. C’mon. It’s got my name written all over it, can’t you see?

I wouldn’t be too surprised if it suddenly appeared to be stuck in my mailbox some time next week. Grin

Ragnaråkk, where I got both my piercings, celebrated their 6th birthday today with cakes and sparkling drinks – and a 30% sale on everything in the shop! I was planning on heading over there to pick up a bag and a hoodie I kinda wanted to get the last time I was there, but my neck has been bugging me severely the last couple of days so I decided to just relax at home instead. But since I’m blessed with such a loving boyfriend, he volunteered to go to Ragnaråkk for me, I now have both an Iron Fist-hoodie and a immensely cool handbag (with a skull) from Living Dead Souls in my possession.
