About

Who is Shamini?
ShaminiBorn into an August night in 1979, and currently living in Trondheim with her beloved boyfriend and charming little dog. She first saw the light of day in Bergen, more accurately Laksevåg. When her parents decided to move to Steigen in 1980 she became a northerner for real, and haven’t been back to visit Bergen since then. She spent her days in Steigen up until August 2007 when she finally managed to uproot and leave that godforsaken place. If you listen closely you may hear her admitting reluctantly that she occasionally miss her home and the surrounding nature, which really is the one thing making Steigen a place worth loving.

She was also featured in the June issue of “Handikapnytt”, in an article about handicapped people and their use of social medias.

Why the diary?
Since she has spent most of her life in a wheelchair, she has always had a lot of spare time on her hands. Time which has often been used for thinking thoughts not always happy, but nonetheless she always does her best to keep a smile on her face. People often consider her to be a strong-minded girl who won’t let hardship and struggles take her down, but some times the negativity still manages to overwhelm her, bringing her down and making her head spin from uncertainty and discomfort. She has discovered that her diary really helps her, that it’s liberating to let all her thoughts loose on “paper” instead of keeping them locked up inside her head. She’s been keeping a diary for many years now, but never on a regular basis. During 2002 she decided to start a diary on her website, and in 2003 it really caught on. She’s got a few mental barriers that makes her wanna censor a lot of what she’s writing, but she’s working on shaking the urge to do so. Along the years her diary has been password protected, but eventually she decided to open her diary to all interested in taking part in her thoughts.

Please keep in mind that these are her own private thoughts, and she asks that you will show respect and read with an open mind. Ones diary is filled with thoughts, feelings, experiences and everyday challenges, and this one is no exception.
